Join Zion in donating cash and requested items to the Milaca Food Pantry in celebration of Minnesota FoodShare Month. This month is an ecumenical ministry supported by businesses, organizations and faith communities to keep 300 food shelves stocked during this tough time of year for families and communities.
Items needed in Milaca:
Proteins – canned meat, fish, and beans, nuts & nut butters
Fresh / dried herbs & spices; White, wild, & brown rice varieties
Gluten-free flours & flour blends (ex. Coconut, oat, rice, almond, tapioca, chickpea, sorghum, cassava, amaranth, buckwheat, teff)
Personal care items – shampoo / soap, deodorant, toothpaste, feminine hygiene, diapers, toilet paper
Household supplies – laundry & dish detergent, kitchen & bathroom cleaners, paper towels.
Get Flocked! Youth are hosting a fun community fundraiser where you pay to "flock" someone's yard with flamingos or "pay" to have flamingos removed from your yard! Ask Pastor Kate for more information. Proceeds will support the youth mission trip in June.
The Women of the ELCA are collecting items for newborn kits that will be sent to countries in Africa to support pre-natal and post-natal care and reduce infant and mother mortality rates. We will collect items and cash through Lent.
Each kit needs:
• 1 regular-sized bath towel, lightweight, Approx. 50” x 26”
• 1 washcloth (please not microfiber)
• 1 bath-size bar of white Ivory soap in original packaging
• 1 newborn cotton t-shirt or “onesie” – size 0-3 or newborn
• 1 baby receiving blanket, between 30” x 30” and 48” x 48” – soft cotton or medium weight flannel
• 2 cloth prefolded diapers – cotton with reinforced center panel, minimum size 12” x 16”
All are welcome for a Mediterranean themed potluck to remember the Last Support of Jesus with his disciples. There will be first Communion celebrated as well as a special foot washing! Music and ceremonial stripping of the altar will take place all in Zion's Fellowship Hall.
Zion and Trinity will host a Good Friday Service featuring an adult choir performance and reading of the Lord's Passion at Trinity Lutheran Church.
All are welcome at Zion Lutheran for our morning Easter service with live organist and trumpet along with a joyous celebration of Jesus' resurrection for our sins.
Go to CampOnomia.org and register for Summer Camp! Zion provides scholarships called camperships to support the cost of camp. We strongly encourage this ministry and fun experience for your kids and families alike. They even have grandparents camp! https://www.camponomia.org/programs
